Pharmacists at Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock work with the healthcare team to ensure positive patient outcomes. Services provided by pharmacists span beyond decentralized clinical consultation (dosing – pharmacokinetic, antimicrobials, anticoagulation;antimicrobial stewardship – culture review, de-escalation; IV to PO) to include Graduate Medical Education integration, rehab team rounds, and transitions of care.
Learning Opportunities
- Engage with other healthcare professionals on the interdisciplinary team including medical residents
- Complete a teaching and research certificate program through the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences
- Obtain ACLS certification and participate in the management of medical emergencies
- Serve as a preceptor to students from two colleges of pharmacy
- Provide continuing education for pharmacists and other healthcare practitioners
- Participate in P & T Committee
- Complete a research project and present at a regional residency conference
- Provide education at Cardiac Rehab
- Lead Journal Club and Patient Cases
- Provide clinical staffing one evening per week and every fourth weekend
- Serve at a free clinic monthly
