Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock PGY1 Pharmacy Residency

Pharmacists at Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock work with the healthcare team to ensure positive patient outcomes. Services provided by pharmacists span beyond decentralized clinical consultation (dosing – pharmacokinetic, antimicrobials, anticoagulation;antimicrobial stewardship – culture review, de-escalation; IV to PO) to include Graduate Medical Education integration, rehab team rounds, and transitions of care.

Learning Opportunities

  • Engage with other healthcare professionals on the interdisciplinary team including medical residents
  • Complete a teaching and research certificate program through the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences
  • Obtain ACLS certification and participate in the management of medical emergencies
  • Serve as a preceptor to students from two colleges of pharmacy
  • Provide continuing education for pharmacists and other healthcare practitioners
  • Participate in P & T Committee
  • Complete a research project and present at a regional residency conference
  • Provide education at Cardiac Rehab
  • Lead Journal Club and Patient Cases
  • Provide clinical staffing one evening per week and every fourth weekend
  • Serve at a free clinic monthly
