Pharmacists at Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock work with the healthcare team to ensure positive patient outcomes. Services provided by our pharmacists span beyond decentralized clinical consultation (dosing – pharmacokinetic, antimicrobials, anticoagulation; antimicrobial stewardship – culture review, de-escalation; IV to PO) to include Graduate Medical Education integration, multidisciplinary rounds, and transitions of care.
Learning Opportunities
- Engage with other healthcare professionals on multidisciplinary rounds Â
- Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications and participate in the management of medical emergencies Â
- Participate in the teaching and research certificate programs through the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy Â
- Participate in pharmacy-related and medication-focused publications to be included in the official Baptist Health employee newsletter (e.g., The Connection)Â Â
- Serve as a preceptor for APPE students Â
- Provide continuing education for pharmacists and other healthcare professionals Participate in P&T Committee meetings Â
- Complete a research project and present at a regional residency conference Â
- Lead journal clubs, patient case presentations, and topic discussions for pharmacy students Â
- Provide clinical staffing one evening per week and every fourth weekend Â
- Serve at a charitable clinic monthly
