Three Years Building Relationships in Faulkner County

Tim Bowen
President, Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway

Looking back on three years of our hospital serving Faulkner County, I am reminded of the great privilege that Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway has in supporting Conway and surrounding areas outside our hospital walls throughout the year.

Take the Back-to-School Bash that Baptist Health Pediatric Clinic-Conway hosted just this month, for example. We know that this time of year can be hectic for parents getting their kids ready to go back into the classroom, so we invited residents to enjoy some time for games, giveaways and more fun.

You’ll also see us at the Faulkner County Fair this September, at Festival of Chairs supporting the Children’s Advocacy Alliance, at Toad Suck Daze supporting the annual Toad Suck Run and at the Laurels & Stripes scholarship gala. We take great pride as well in speaking at local civic group presentations for the Rotary Club and Lions Club, and supporting the Conway Symphony Orchestra Guild.

We’ve also taken part in the following events:

  • Deliver Hope “Dare to Dream” Banquet
  • Conway Human Development Center Health Fair
  • 50 Years of Nursing Celebration at the University of Central Arkansas
  • Conway Police Department Safety Fair
  • KLife Golf Tournament
  • Central Baptist College Scholarship Gala
  • UCA Employee Benefits Fair

At three of our local elementary schools, we offer a farm-to-table program to educate children on healthy eating. We’ve also supported Wampus Cats athletics through initiatives like installing a track for students and the community at Jim Stone Elementary.

Our athletics support for Faulkner County teams goes further to back the University of Central Arkansas Bears and Central Baptist College Mustangs.

Through contributions by Baptist Health Community Outreach, we’ve expanded our service to you even more by regularly hosting grocery store tours, diabetes programs and blood pressure management classes for local residents. We provide screenings, immunizations and more at the Community Wellness Center at New Hope Baptist Church.

Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway is also proud of our relationship with the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce in events like its Annual Meeting, the Teacher’s Fair, the Business Expo/Taste of Conway and the Women in Business Lunch event. We’re grateful that the Chamber recognized our Greta Morgan as Nurse of the Year at this year’s North Metro Healthcare Awards in addition to recognizing the hospital’s employee wellness initiatives.

It is through supporting initiatives like these that Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway continues to build relationships with members of the Faulkner County community. We are committed to keeping residents healthy, happy and amazing.
