Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock Named Best Hospital for 15th Year

Back in 1996, BHMC-Little Rock was handed its first Consumer Choice Award from the National Research Corporation for being the best hospital in Central Arkansas.

The tradition continues.

For an unprecedented 15th year in a row, BHMC-LR has been chosen as the hospital of choice among consumers in the region, according to results from this year’s NRC survey.

“Taking care of our patients with the highest level of quality and personal concern is what wins this award year after year,” said Doug Weeks, senior vice president of BHMC-Little Rock and BHRI. “We have a big reputation to live up to, and this award confirms that people in Central Arkansas believe we are fulfilling our promise to give them all our best and as a result continue to rate Baptist Health as their preferred healthcare provider.”

“Quality care is our number one competitive edge, and our caregivers are doing it better than the competition. Thank you to all of our employees who contribute to our mission in a wide variety of ways every day,” Weeks said.

The NRC’s independent market study and comprehensive consumer assessment of the healthcare industry annually gives the Consumer Choice Award to the best hospitals based on overall quality and image ratings in 200 markets across the country. Winners appear in Modern Healthcare magazine.

The survey is based on four factors –– best doctors, best nurses, best image/reputation, and best overall quality. The award reflects the growing role consumer choice is playing in the healthcare field. Recognizing that a host of factors enter into choices made by consumers, the criteria by which winners are named reflects a composite score for multiple consumer image and preference ratings.

“Healthcare has become an increasingly important issue across the country and empowered consumers are making decisions for themselves and their families when selecting their healthcare facilities and services,” said Ginny Martin, president of the National Research Corporations’ Ticker division.

“As care options multiply and financial challenges remain strong, consumer perception of quality continues to grow in importance. Dedication to providing high quality healthcare has become essential for all hospitals. In the face of adversity, the Consumer Choice Award winners exemplify the dedication it takes to provide quality healthcare to their communities, and we are pleased to honor them through the eyes of their patients,” Martin said.

Thanks to all the employees throughout the system who continue to make Baptist Health the best healthcare provider in Arkansas.
