November is Diabetes Awareness Month—a time to focus on the steps we can all take to live healthier, longer lives. In Arkansas, more than 290,000 adults—about 12% of the population—are living with diabetes, and an estimated 14,000 more are diagnosed each year. Many others have prediabetes and may not even know it.
Making simple, lasting changes to what we eat can go a long way toward managing or preventing this condition. One easy place to start is in your own kitchen. This month’s BHealthy Blog recipe—Turkey Sausage & Arugula Pita Pizza—is a lighter, nutrient-packed twist on a classic comfort food. Made with whole-grain pita, lean turkey sausage, and fresh greens, it delivers the flavor you crave with the balance your body needs.
Whether you’re managing diabetes, supporting someone who is, or simply trying to make smarter food choices, this recipe proves that healthy eating can be both delicious and doable—one bite at a time.
