Preventive Heart Screenings Now Available at Baptist Health in North Little Rock

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – If your mom, dad or grandparents have had heart issues, it’s understandable that you would wonder if cardiovascular disease runs in the family and could you be next?

Now there’s a way to get some peace of mind through the BHeart Healthy Screenings offered by Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock. Early detection and treatment are the best ways to prevent heart attacks, stroke and vascular disease complications.

Offered the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the hospital, the heart screening is less than $100 and includes:

  • CT Calcium Score (CT scan to look for signs of blocked heart arteries)
  • Laboratory Blood Tests (Lipid Panel – Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Triglycerides and Diabetes Testing – Hemoglobin A1C
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • Carotid Artery Ultrasound Screening
  • Abdominal Aorta Aneurysm Ultrasound Screening
  • Blood Pressure Evaluation
  • Body Mass Index (BMI)

Results are provided same day and a cardiovascular specialist will review the findings at the end of the appointment. Participants must be between the ages of 30 and 85 without a previous diagnosis for coronary artery disease. These screenings are a service of the Baptist Health Heart Institute and are offered Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway also.
