For Dr. Mapes, the most rewarding part of her career is getting the opportunity to watch her patients grow up.  She enjoys listening to her young patients talk about their lives, how they’re doing in school and how they feel. Her goal is to keep children healthy and active, as well as address any mental health needs. Dr. Mapes says one of the most important things a parent can do is make sure their child is up-to-date on well-child exams to ensure they’re reaching developmental milestones.

“My best advice for parents is to trust their instincts, pay attention to their children and get their vaccines,” said Dr. Mapes.

In her free time, Dr. Mapes enjoys DIY projects and spending time with her dogs and neighbors.
