My undergraduate degree is in chemical engineering – pumps, pipes and fluid flow. Because of that background, cardiology made sense to me. Cardiology treatments actually matter – they extend lives and relieve symptoms.

An Arkansas native, Dr. Geoghagan joined Arkansas Cardiology after serving as a staff cardiologist in the U. S. Air Force. He held the rank of Major and was chief of cardiovascular services at Eglin Air Force Regional Hospital when he left the military after 10 years of service.

Dr. Geoghagan earned the doctor of medicine degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science after receiving his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

Dr. Geoghagan is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a member of the American Heart Association, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and the American Society of Echocardiography. His medical specialties are noninvasive imaging, diagnostic catheterization, and physiologic assessment of heart disease.

A self-described “huge sports fan,” Dr. Geoghagan met his wife, Heather, while coaching her intramural flag football team. They have a daughter and a son. In his leisure time, Dr. Geoghagan plays guitar, reads and avidly follows Razorback sports.
