David Gordon Newbern, MD

Dr. David Newbern has been practicing orthopedics in Little Rock since 1992. His subspecialty training is in the reconstruction of the hip and knee. After completing medical school at UAMS and orthopedic residency at Georgetown University Medical Center, he completed fellowship training in hip and knee replacement at The Center for Hip and Knee Surgery in Mooresville, Indiana. The goal of his practice is to provide expert treatment of hip and knee problems with the use of arthroscopy, partial (unicompartmental) and total knee replacement, total hip replacement, mini-incision hip replacement, realignment procedures (avoiding joint replacement), and revision hip and knee replacements (when the prosthesis has failed). Dr. Newbern is consulted on unusually difficult joint replacement cases from around the state. His research articles have been published in the Journal of Arthroplasty. He performs over 400 joint replacement procedures per year.

Dr. Newbern grew up in Little Rock and returned after training to practice here. With his wife, Linda, they are a busy family raising three daughters and a son: Elizabeth, Mollie, Baird, and Sarah.
