Is It ADHD?

Arkansas has one of the highest rates of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD, in the country, with the condition affecting nearly 15% of our population. Though ADHD can present significant hurdles for those with the condition, many of them live productive, healthy lives through a variety of treatment options.

 An individual is diagnosed with ADHD when he or she displays at least six out of the nine (five out of nine for individuals 17 and older) symptoms of either inattention type ADHD or hyperactivity-impulsivity type ADHD over a period of six months or longer within at least two settings, such as home and school/work.
