Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock held a grand opening and news conference today to showcase its newly updated emergency department. The grand opening marks the completion of four phases of construction.
The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is one of the biggest annual events in Central Arkansas — and Baptist Health wants you to be a part of it this year by walking, running, or being a virtual participant on the Baptist Health team. The largest team Baptist Health has ever fielded for the Race for the Cure consisted of 1,700 employees and friends, and we hope to break that record for the 2011 race.
Baptist Health’s Community Outreach team is coordinating a diaper drive to support its services for new and expectant mothers at the Heaven’s Loft and St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church wellness centers, both of which target underserved women in need of assistance.
Anyone who has had a stroke, spinal cord injury, neurological disorder, head injury, a serious broken bone or a limb amputation finds that most common, ordinary, daily tasks need to be modified and relearned.
The morning of New Year’s Day, the 122nd Tournament of Roses parade was viewed by millions of people around the world. More people watch this particular parade than any other, and the theme of this year’s parade was “Building Dreams, Friendships, & More.”
A special committee (including last year’s UFC winner) read through numerous applications and then interviewed potential contestants to help select this year’s UFC competitors. Over the course of the program, these six employees will learn about good nutrition, proper exercise techniques, and how to incorporate both to lose weight from their team’s fitness trainer. Along the way there will also be individual and team challenges and competitions to test their new skills.
