My mother started working for Baptist Health back in 1996 while serving her country and going to school. She started out in one of our many clinics working in pediatrics, and later transitioned to the hospital and worked on the resource team in women’s and children’s while also picking up in the pediatric clinic at night. She eventually made a statement in labor and delivery were she currently thrives. She has worked on the labor flight team with MedFlight, spent years teaching ACLS, BLS, PALs, and health fairs hosted by Baptist Health. She has assisted Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep (NILMDTS) in creating memorabilia for grieving families on her days off. My mother has been the foundation for my work ethic, education, and character my whole life. She exemplifies Baptist Health’s core values. This should come as no surprise that I also work at Baptist Health. I have been working for Baptist Health since 2015. I started off as an information associate in the NICU. Once I decided to apply to nursing school, I realized that there was no better place to get the best learning experience than the ER. I transitioned to the ER as a patient care tech and stayed there until I graduated. I was blessed to be offered an ICU position and am striving to live up to the Baptist Health values. We have a loving phrase we like to use is “A family that works at Baptist Health, stays at Baptist Health.”
