When in 1973 at the time of the dedication of the current facility, I attended the festivities. I was accompanied by my younger brother. At the time, I was an employee in the linen service/laundry department. Being off the day of the festivities, I had made the decision to come and observe the events. The most VIP to address the group was the then Vice President Gerald Ford – not realizing at the time that I was watching the soon-to-be President. All the addresses and speeches were conducted at the then incomplete loading dock area. It was definitely a unique occasion.
