What laboratory services does Baptist Health provide?
Across the state of Arkansas and for patients of all ages, Baptist Health Laboratory Services provides accurate, timely, cost efficient and state-of-the-art testing and results ranging from the most common to the most complex. We strive to be known for the reliability of our results and responsiveness to our patients and their families, as we share in the responsibility for overall patient outcomes.
Staffed by certified medical laboratory scientists and board-certified pathologists on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Baptist Health Laboratory Services participates in multiple internal and external quality control programs, including proficiency testing exercises.
The laboratory at Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock is accredited by the College of American Pathologists, meeting or exceeding the requirements under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA), a government program ensuring the quality of laboratory outcomes. In addition, Toxicology is accredited by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA), the Blood Bank is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and all of our facilities -- Little Rock, North Little Rock, Heber Springs, Arkadelphia, Stuttgart and Hot Spring County -- are accredited by the Joint Commission (JCAHO) and the Arkansas Department of Health.
