Panera Bread Pink Ribbon Bagel Sales To Benefit
Baptist Health Women’s Resource Center

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – For the fifth year, central Arkansas Panera Bread stores will donate proceeds from their Pink Ribbon Bagel sales during October Breast Cancer Awareness Month to the Baptist Health Women’s Resource Center.

The women’s resource center provides life-affirming support and resources to women fighting or recovering from breast cancer. The center’s services include:

Positive Appearance Center provides a private environment to shop with dignity and purchase hats, turbans and wigs

Look Good Feel Better Program offers specially trained and licensed cosmetologists to help women cope with the side effects of cancer treatment by providing tips on applying makeup and using hats and wigs

Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Support Group allows women with breast cancer to share their personal experiences and receive support from one another in an informal setting

A breast cancer survivor and one of Panera Bread’s first franchisees, Sue Stees, of Tulsa, developed the idea for the Pink Ribbon Bagel in 2001 as a way to support the cause. Since that time, the Pink Ribbon Bagel has become a national product supporting breast cancer organizations across the country.

Baked fresh daily in the shape of a ribbon and featuring cherry chips, dried cherries and cranberries, the signature Pink Ribbon Bagels will be sold from Oct. 1-31 at participating locations. Twenty-five cents from every Pink Ribbon bagel sold will be given to the women’s resource center, and for one day only, Oct. 9, 100 percent of the sales will be donated.

Participating locations include Panera Bread at 314 S. University, 10701 Kanis Road and 11525 Cantrell Road in Little Rock; 2812 Lakewood Village Drive in North Little Rock; and 1050 Ellis Avenue in Conway. Pre-ordering the bagels by calling the location a few days in advance will ensure the store has plenty of Pink Ribbon bagels on hand to meet customers’ needs.

With more than 175 points of access, including eight hospitals, Baptist Health is committed to delivering All Our Best to the people of Arkansas. To learn more about the Baptist Health Women’s Resource Center, call Baptist Health HealthLine at 1-888-BAPTIST.
