FORT SMITH, Ark. – Baptist Health recently opened Expressly for You-Fort Smith, an outpatient lactation center, to assist mothers with any needs and concerns they may have about breastfeeding their newborn.
The center is located in Baptist Health Medical Plaza, 1500 Dodson Ave., and open to all area mothers. Nancy Turner, RN, IBCLC, helps mothers effectively nurse their babies by teaching proper latch and positioning techniques; ways to increase milk supply; and how to use and clean a breast pump. Talk to your insurance provider to see if lactation counseling is covered. Out-of-pocket payment is also available. To schedule an appointment for lactation support with Turner or for more information, call (479) 441-5694.
Turner has more than 25 years of experience in postpartum, nursery and neonatal intensive care. She also teaches monthly lactation classes open to Baptist Health patients and all area mothers. To register for the class, visit Baptist-Health.com or call 1-888-BAPTIST.
