Hip Pain Topic of Upcoming Talk at Baptist Health-Fort Smith

FORT SMITH, Ark. – Too often, our lives are dictated by aches and pains. You’d love to go shop at that outlet mall with family, but you know you can’t keep up. Sitting in the stands at a ball game is out of the question.

The physicians at Baptist Health Orthopedics Clinic-Fort Smith are putting the focus on relieving joint pain by offering a free educational seminar this month so that local residents can get back to the activities they enjoy.

Dr. John H. Harp will discuss causes of hip pain such as arthritis and bursitis, as well as treatment options, including joint replacement surgery. Signs that someone may need treatment for hip pain are pain during activity, stiffness in the hip joint, noticeable swelling in the hip and lifestyle limitations.

Anyone with questions about hip pain is welcome to attend this free event. The seminar will be held from noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, in the Baptist Health Classroom on the first floor of Baptist Health-Fort Smith. To reserve a spot in the class, call the Baptist Healthline at
1-888-BAPTIST or visit baptist-health.com and click on “Register for a Class.”
