Flu Shots To Be Given At Baptist Health-Conway Site

CONWAY, Ark. – For a quick, easy and convenient way to get your flu shot, Baptist Health is hosting a community flu shot clinic on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway site.

The Baptist Health Mobile Health Unit will be at the Conway site located at 1555 Exchange Avenue Flu from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vaccines will be given to adults 18 years and older only and are free to those who present a Medicare Part B card as proof of coverage or $20 for anyone without Medicare coverage. Private insurance, Medicare HMO, and Medicaid insurance billing will not be available.

The influenza virus(es) changes every season, so it’s important to get vaccinated each and every year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

If you have asthma, lung disease, diabetes, are pregnant, or are 65 years or older, you should especially get vaccinated. For seniors, the seasonal flu can be very serious, even deadly. Ninety percent of flu-related deaths and more than half of flu-related hospitalizations occur in people age 65 and older.

Getting the flu vaccine protects you and prevents you from spreading the flu. Don’t miss this opportunity to get vaccinated, and follow everyday steps (wash your hands, get plenty of sleep, exercise, drink plenty of fluids and eat healthy) to keep yourself well this flu season.
