Celebrity Fashion Designer Duo Badgley Mischka To Bring The Glam To Baptist Health Bolo Bash

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – “One zip and you’re glamorous” has been the motto (and a stylistic nod to 1940s Hollywood) of fashion designers to the stars – Mark Badgley and James Mischka. The design duo, who have made their mark over the past two decades with glamorous and wearable evening wear, are set to entertain at this year’s Baptist Health Bolo Bash Luncheon on Wednesday, April 20.

Festivities will kick off with a silent auction at 11 a.m. in the J.A. Gilbreath Conference Center on the Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock campus. Afterwards guests will enjoy an interactive program with the celebrity guests; a runway show with returning master of ceremonies Lisa Fischer, morning show host for B98.5 radio station; and a delicious meal prepared by Executive Chef Len Thompson.

On April 19, there will also be a special opportunity to mix and mingle with Badgley and Mischka at a 6:30 p.m. reception to be held in the home of Janet and Sam Alley of Little Rock.

Badgley and Mischka have been hailed by Vogue magazine as two of the top American designers and the darlings of the Hollywood set. The designers joined forces to launch their brand in 1988. Since the beginning they have captivated the fashion press and prominent retailers around the world with their sophisticated style that caters to a younger, more modern couture customer without forsaking women of any age.

Their timeless designs have been worn by celebrities such as Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta Jones, Jennifer Lopez, Sharon Stone, Jennifer Garner, Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet, Sarah Jessica Parker and Ashley Judd.

“We like to keep things effortless,” said Badgley. “It’s fabulous if you can spend hours getting ready, but a woman should also be able to bring a dress to work and change there for an evening out.”

Badgley Mischka is sold in prestigious stores around the world including Dillard’s, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue as well as in Badgley Mischka boutiques in Beverly Hills and New York.

Bolo Bash is Baptist Health’s largest fundraising event and has raised more than
$11 million to improve and enhance the care of Arkansans since its kickoff in 1989. This year’s Bolo Bash proceeds will be used for nursing scholarships at the Baptist Health College Little Rock and continuing education for nurses working at Baptist Health. Baptist Health and the Baptist Health Foundation have partnered to encourage registered nurses to continue their education to complete a bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing, and an initiative has also been underway to increase the number of nurses seeking certification in their specialty area.

2016 Bolo Bash Luncheon event chairman is Annemarie Dillard Jazic, presenting sponsor is Dillard’s, and other sponsors include AY Magazine, Delta Dental, Landers, Tanarah Luxe Floral, Roller Funeral Homes, Little Rock Soiree, Arkansas BlueCross BlueShield, Bryant Group Properties, LLC, Janet and Sam Alley, Pat and Bill Carlton, Terri Snowden and Betty Richards.
