Baptist Health System Nursing Development Staff Educator Among Arkansas’ ’40 Nurse Leaders Under 40’

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Arkansas Center for Nursing on Tuesday, April 30, honored Meagan Freeman, a staff educator in Baptist Health System Nursing Development, as one of its 2019 “40 Nurse Leaders Under 40.”

Freeman, a native of Fordyce who has been with Baptist Health for nine years, BSN, RN, CMSRN, was recognized alongside other nursing professionals in the state during a ceremony at the Benton Event Center in Benton.

“I am honored and extremely blessed to be recognized this year as one of Arkansas’ top 40 nurse leaders under 40,” Freeman said. “I am very thankful for this opportunity to shed light on the amazing work nurses do in the state of Arkansas.”

Freeman, a 2011 graduate of Baptist Health College Little Rock, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in December from the University of Central Arkansas, where she is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing.

During her career, Freeman has also worked as a clinical registered nurse and patient care technician at Baptist Health, and as a registered nurse for Cox Health in Springfield, Missouri.

The “40 Nurse Leaders Under 40” ceremony honors nursing professionals for their dedication and leadership in the profession following a highly competitive nomination process that focuses on their commitment to excellence, service, outreach and contributions, among other qualities. The Arkansas Center for Nursing serves as the state’s nursing workforce center. It is a member of the National Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers.

Other honorees included Nycole Oliver, DNP, APRN, of Baptist Health Family Clinic-Dodson Avenue in Fort Smith, whose career in health care began at Baptist Health-Fort Smith in 2001.
