Baptist Health Nutrition Counseling Center in Fort Smith to Kick Off Educational Series

FORT SMITH, Ark. – This month, Baptist Health Nutrition Counseling Center will kick off an educational series entitled “Fueling Your Grit” to help local runners of all experience and fitness levels get the best results through nutrition.

The course will focus on how to safely begin a running program, as well as proper nutrition, hydration and supplements needed before and after a race. The four-week class will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., every Tuesday, beginning April 23. Whether you are running to lose weight, start a hobby or to set a new personal record, the class will teach you how to fuel your body to reach your goals.

Hannah Holstein, a dietitian at Baptist Health-Fort Smith, will serve as the instructor. Holstein is a Mansfield native and an avid runner. She ran cross country at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith for two years before transferring to the University of Central Arkansas to run track and cross country, as well as finish her undergraduate degree in nutrition. Holstein recently completed her first 17-mile trail run and is now training for the Pikes Peak half marathon in Colorado.

The “Fueling Your Grit” course is $75 per person. To reserve your spot or to ask questions, call (479) 441-4183.
