MALVERN, Ark. – Baptist Health Medical Center-Hot Spring County recently received advanced gastroenterology equipment, thanks to a generous donation from volunteers with the hospital’s auxiliary.
The Olympus EVIS Exera II gastroscope system delivers the best high-definition image quality during endoscopies, and helps surgeons provide accurate screening and diagnosis. Using the new-and-improved technology, Drs. Eliyahu Hemo and Allen Gerber will be able to better care for gastrointestinal patients in the operating room.
According to Dr. Hemo, “This generous contribution allowed our hospital to purchase a new endoscopy system used to perform crucial gastrointestinal tests and interventions. The new system has state of the art capabilities that allow us to provide the excellent care our community deserves.”
Baptist Health Medical Center-Hot Spring County’s auxiliary donated $113,000 toward the equipment. According to Dr. Gerber, the monetary gift will enable the hospital to better help members of the community in Malvern and surrounding areas.
“This tool will facilitate the diagnosis of numerous gastrointestinal issues,” Dr. Gerber said. “We are thankful for the auxiliary and all they do for the hospital and community.”
