Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway Offering 3D Mammography

CONWAY, Ark. –  Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway now offers a 3D mammography exam that provides better, earlier breast cancer detection for patients.

Multiple studies have shown that 3D mammograms find more cancers than traditional 2D mammography. A 3D mammogram is able to provide hidden details in dense tissue that a basic 2D mammogram might miss.

A 3D mammogram is almost identical to a conventional 2D exam. The positioning is the same, and it only takes a few seconds longer than a 2D mammogram. The 3D machine takes multiple thin images through the breasts in order to see through normal dense tissue better than a 2D exam can.

Since opening in 2016, Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway has focused on the ever-evolving health care needs of residents in Faulkner County and surrounding communities with Christian compassion and personal concern.
