LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Baptist Health Community Outreach is offering diabetes screenings this month at two locations in Little Rock and North Little Rock for residents to see if they are at risk for prediabetes.
Free A1C screenings are limited to the first 20 individuals per site. Participants could qualify for a free wellness program led by trained lifestyle coaches.
Screenings will be held on the following dates and locations:
- Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Partnership for a Healthy Arkansas building, 10117 Kanis Road in Little Rock
- Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Heaven’s Loft Wellness Center, 518 W. 26th St. in North Little Rock
One of out of three American adults have prediabetes, and nine out of 10 people with prediabetes don’t know they have it, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
