Baptist Health Announces Two New Physicians At Malvern Clinic

MALVERN, Ark. – The husband and wife duo, Drs. Richard Chastain and Laura Lester, have recently joined the medical team at Baptist Health Family Clinic-Malvern.

Chastain, a Malvern native, received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Henderson State University and a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He earned his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles.

Lester, who grew up in Texarkana, Texas, and later moved to Lowell, Arkansas, attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where she completed a bachelor’s degree in biology. After medical school at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies, she returned to Arkansas for her residency.

Both Lester and Chastain completed their family medicine residency at UAMS Northwest in Fayetteville and both physicians are members of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Lester and Chastain will be seeing patients week days beginning at 7 a.m. to accommodate patients’ busy schedules. BHFC-Malvern,located at 1234 South Main, is open until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and can be contacted at 501-337-9066.
