In 2000, the da Vinci Surgical System became the first FDA cleared minimally invasive, robotic-assisted surgical system for use in general laparoscopic surgery. Since that time, more than three million da Vinci procedures have been completed worldwide in 64 countries and all 50 states in the U.S. Currently, the da Vinci Xi Surgical System may be used for general, urology, gynecology and cardiothoracic surgeries.
