Baptist Health Accepting Applications for Fall Sessions of Healthy & Active Youth Program

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Baptist Health Weight & Nutrition Center will offer two fall sessions of its Healthy & Active Youth Program, which encourages kids and their families to live a healthier lifestyle through fun, interactive activities.

The Healthy & Active Youth Program is a free program for youth, ages 11 to 17 and their families. It incorporates all elements of health, including nutrition and physical activity. This year’s fall sessions will be Sept. 13-Oct. 18 (Session 1) and Nov. 8-Dec. 13 (Session 2). Each meeting is held at Baptist Health Weight & Nutrition Center, 10915 N. Rodney Parham Road, Suite G, in Little Rock. 

Topics covered include: 

  • Beneficial apps and resting metabolic rate (RMR) calculation 
  • Snacks on the go 
  • Reduced sodium favorites 
  • What you can do with lettuce 
  • Cooked and uncooked portions 
  • Sugary drinks and their effects
  • Fruit and veggie displays 
  • Breakfast ideas

Participants will receive a fitness tracker, T-shirt, weekly prizes for participation and more. There will also be a weekly newsletter and email follow-ups for daily steps and projects.

The Baptist Health Healthy and Active Youth Program is funded by Baptist Health Foundation, supported by the Roy & Christine Sturgis Charitable Trust and facilitated by Baptist Health Weight & Nutrition Center.
