Dr. Diaa Bahgat is a board certified neurosurgeon. He completed neurosurgery residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Prior to that, he had completed residency at Cairo University in Egypt. He also completed fellowship training in general neurosurgery, functional neurosurgery as well as pain and epilepsy surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, as well as Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. He has a masters and a medical doctorate degree in neurosurgery. Dr. Bahgat treats a wide range of neurosurgical disorders including degenerative spine disease as well as failed back surgery syndrome and deformity with special interest in minimally invasive spine surgery. He also performs cranial surgery including resection of brain tumors, transsphenoidal surgery and microvascular decompression. He is one of a few neurosurgeons in Arkansas that perform functional neurosurgery which includes deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease and tremor as well as epilepsy surgery. He also has special interest in spinal cord stimulation as well as other pain related surgical interventions.
