I try to follow scientific evidence as much as possible, and I try to be both practical and somewhat conservative. I try to pay attention to a patient’s particular concerns and I feel it’s very important to explain to patients and their families why a certain diagnosis is made, and why particular treatments are chosen, and it’s equally important to educate people about the diseases I work with. I try to avoid doing unnecessary testing or giving medicines that aren’t likely to be helpful, and hope to focus on improving quality of life as much as possible.
