ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Presented by Southern Bancorp, the first annual Steak Soiree fundraiser benefiting Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia will be held Tuesday, May 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the Walker Center on the Ouachita Baptist University campus.
“This is the first event of its kind here in Arkadelphia, and we’re delighted with the reception our community has shown,” said John Bowen, vice president and administrator for Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia. “Our town always rallies around our hospital, and we’re truly grateful for their support.”
World Championship steak-grilling team, led by David Nelson of Magnolia, will be serving up delicious filets for attendees. DJ Williams, an NFL free-agent and current Little Rock TV personality, will be the speaker for the event.
Williams went to high school in North Little Rock and played football at the University of Arkansas. He won the prestigious John Mackey award as the nation’s best collegiate tight end. Upon graduation, Williams was drafted in the 5th round to the Green Bay Packers. In addition to the Packers, Williams has suited up for the Jacksonville Jaguars, the New England Patriots, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and most recently, the Washington Redskins. Today, he is a morning regular on KARK.
