SHERWOOD, Ark. – Sherwood Family Medical Center-A Baptist Health Affiliate has hired three new physicians to their team of healthcare providers. Dr. Rob Winningham joined this week, while Dr. Kaitlin Cockerell will start next week. Her husband, Dr. John Cockerell, will begin seeing patients in early August.
Winningham received his medical degree from the Quillen College of Medicine, in Johnson City, Tennessee, and completed his pediatric residency at Greenville Health Systems in Greenville, South Carolina. His specializations are in childhood disease prevention and healthy lifestyle modification for infants to young adults.
An Arkansas native, Kaitlin Cockerell earned her medical degree and completed her residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Cockerell is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and most recently served as assistant professor of pediatrics in neonatology at UAMS before joining the Sherwood clinic.
John Cockerell recently finished his Family Medicine residency at UAMS where he also received his medical degree. His professional interests include outpatient clinic care, inpatient hospitalist care and community/population health and outreach. Cockerell specializes in psychiatric care, sports medicine, outpatient procedures and geriatrics.
Sherwood Family Medical Center is located at 1308 East Kiehl Avenue in Sherwood and offers services for both adults and pediatric patients. Those services include wellness exams, chronic illness management, allergy testing, immunizations, dermatological procedures, laboratory testing and basic imaging services. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached at 501-835-0703.
