FORT SMITH, Ark. – Baptist Health Family Clinic-Van Buren is proud to welcome LaRhonda Torrey, APRN, to its care team. Torrey is now accepting patients of all ages and is committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive care to individuals and families throughout the River Valley.
As an experienced nurse practitioner, Torrey offers a wide range of health care services with a focus on preventative care, chronic disease management and long-term wellness strategies. She brings more than 20 years of nursing experience—most recently as an emergency room nurse in Fort Smith—where she discovered her passion for helping patients take control of their health before they reach a crisis point.
“During my time in the ER, I saw people on their worst days, when they were in crisis and couldn’t always comprehend their care plan,” said Torrey. “That experience taught me many things, but the most important was to listen to my patients and educate them about their health.”
Torrey earned both her Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. She began her nursing journey with an associate degree in Nursing from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.
A Fort Smith native now living in Lavaca, Torrey is passionate about giving back to the community where she was born and raised.
“I want to be the provider my patients can count on, no matter their medical need,” she said. “Make an appointment, let’s talk about it, and come up with a plan together so you can be the best version of yourself.”
Outside of work, Torrey enjoys spending time with her two sons and five grandchildren, as well as cooking and sewing.
