Family Honors Stillborn Son with Caring Cradle Donation to Baptist Health in Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The family of Jack Peterson, who was stillborn on December 12, 2018, honored his memory by donating a caring cradle to Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock. This generous donation will provide grieving families with the invaluable opportunity to spend precious time with their stillborn infants.

The caring cradle, designed to gently cool and preserve the baby, allows families to hold, cuddle, and create lasting memories during their brief time together. This heartfelt gift will serve as a source of comfort and support for families experiencing the profound loss of a child.

In addition to the caring cradle donation, the Star Legacy Foundation’s Arkansas Chapter and Baptist Health’s SHARE Program for Pregnancy and Infant Loss in Little Rock are collaborating to provide comprehensive support and resources to families navigating the devastating experience of infant loss. This partnership will deliver critical assistance through informative brochures, access to support groups, and targeted checklists with coping strategies.

The first 100 brochure packets have been delivered and will initiate an immediate impact, providing comfort and guidance to families during a very difficult time. These resources aim to offer practical support and emotional solace to those experiencing the pain of pregnancy and infant loss.

“Chairman Kim Van Brimer and Co-Chairman Danielle Peterson of the Star Legacy Foundation’s Arkansas Chapter expressed their honor in collaborating with Baptist Health, and their intention to expand this partnership to serve other Baptist Health hospitals with comparable programs and needs beyond their initial work in Little Rock.”

Danielle and Johnny Peterson, parents of Jack, and grandparents Winn and Kim Van Brimer, attended the dedication, along with Baptist Health Foundation and staff members and Dr. Matthew Sellars of Cornerstone Clinic.
