FORT SMITH, Ark. – Dwight Johnson, MD, is now accepting new patients at Baptist Health Family Clinic-Massard.
Dr. Johnson is a board certified family medicine provider and cares for patients of all ages. He focuses on patient education and emphasizes that health is a team effort.
“Everyone, including the patient, has a say in the plan of care,” he said. “I want my patients to understand that together we will work to have the best possible outcomes from the care provided.”
Dr. Johnson most recently worked as an emergency room physician at Baptist Health Medical Center-Heber Springs. With a background in chemistry and engineering, Dr. Johnson spent nearly 20 years working at Arkansas Nuclear One in Russellville. He later went on to earn a medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and complete a residency in family practice at the University of Maryland Medical System. Dr. Johnson also served as a flight surgeon with the United States Army and was a member of the United States Air Force Reserve.
Dr. Johnson is originally from Scranton, Arkansas. In his free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys flying, traveling, fishing, going to plays, concerts, and listening to music. He and his wife are happy to return to the River Valley and look forward to enjoying everything the Fort Smith region has to offer.
