Baptist Health Wound & Hyperbaric Center-Fort Smith Recognized for Patient Satisfaction, Wound Healing Rates

FORT SMITH, Ark. – Baptist Health Wound and Hyperbaric Center-Fort Smith was recently recognized with the Center of Distinction award by Healogics®, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.

The Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 92 percent within 28 median days to heal. There were 555 centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award and 278 achieved the honor.

“I am proud to work with an outstanding clinical team that is dedicated to serving our patients with the utmost respect and dignity,” said Quyen Ha, M.D. “Our team provides treatment for all types of wounds from head to toe with personalized treatment plans in a calm and healing environment.”

Baptist Health Wound and Hyperbaric Center-Fort Smith is located inside Baptist Health-Fort Smith. The center focuses on the healing process of complex or hard-to-heal wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, burns, skin tears, post-surgical incisions and radiation injuries. Advanced wound care modalities provided by Dr. Ha and his team include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, compression therapy, debridement and non-invasive vascular assessment.

The Center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.

Chronic, hard-to-heal wounds are a growing problem among our aging population and often affect those who suffer from diabetes or obesity. For those with certain health conditions, untreated wounds can lead to serious health complications and even amputation. If you are suffering from hard to heal wounds, your provider can refer you to a wound care specialist, if needed. For more information, call (479) 441-5078 or visit Baptist-Health.com.
