Baptist Health Provides Free Screenings Through Community Wellness Center In Conway

CONWAY, Ark. – Last year alone, Baptist Health’s community wellness centers had more than 9,000 patient visits by underserved Arkansans. That number should grow with the recent opening of the healthcare system’s 20th wellness center in Conway.

This new church-based center offers free health screenings and services the first Tuesday of each month from 3 to 6 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, located at 1232 Watkins Street.

Community health nurses provide free blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, BMI screenings, cholesterol screenings, flu shots and immunizations. Patients can also participate in diabetes, tobacco and health education classes. The purpose of the wellness centers is to help residents prevent common health problems through education and to detect health issues early through screenings.

“Our wellness centers are an important part of our work at Baptist Health. They fulfill our mission of being more than a business,” said Teresa Conner, Baptist Health Community Outreach manager. “We’re a healing ministry.”

With more than 175 points of access, including eight hospitals, Baptist Health is committed to delivering “All Our Best” in healthcare to the people of Arkansas. For more information about Baptist Health’s community wellness centers, call Baptist Health HealthLine at 1-888-BAPTIST.
