Baptist Health Family Clinic-Alma Welcomes Two Nurse Practitioners

ALMA, Ark. – Baptist Health Family Clinic-Alma is proud to welcome two new nurse practitioners, Drake Lee, DNP, and Kourtney Surber, APRN, to its care team. They join Dr. Jeffrey Medlock in providing comprehensive healthcare to patients of all ages throughout Crawford County.

A Greenwood native, Lee earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Arkansas Tech University and his Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Central Arkansas. He previously served as a registered nurse at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Springdale. Lee brings a strong background in pediatrics and family medicine and a deep commitment to serving the River Valley.

“I’m passionate about caring for people at every stage of life and look forward to building lasting relationships with families in the Alma community,” said Lee.

Surber, who brings nearly a decade of nursing experience, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith and a Master of Science in Nursing from Harding University. Her background includes orthopedics, intensive care, preoperative, and post-anesthesia care. Surber is committed to delivering personalized, compassionate care that addresses the unique needs of every individual she sees.

“It’s essential to meet each patient where they are in their health journey—whether it’s something routine or more complex,” Surber said. “Supporting patients is both a responsibility and a privilege.”

Together, Lee and Surber provide a wide range of services, including wellness exams, treatment for acute illness or injury, chronic disease management, minor procedures, and preventive care such as screenings and immunizations.

Baptist Health Family Clinic-Alma is located at 937 Hwy 64 East and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call (479) 632-3855.
