FORT SMITH, Ark. – Baptist Health Cardiology Center-Fort Smith’s stress testing lab was recently awarded a three-year term of accreditation in nuclear medicine by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
Nuclear stress testing is imaging of the heart that uses small amounts of radioactive material approved specifically for this purpose.
The center has been accredited since 2015 and undergoes the review process every three years. The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field.
“Our cardiac nuclear medicine team plays a vital role in diagnosing, evaluating and treating heart disease,” said Nasser Adjei, MD, interventional cardiologist at Baptist Health. “We continue to strive for the best and safest evaluation and treatment of patients who undergo stress tests.”
Baptist Health Cardiology Center-Fort Smith is located at 1500 Dodson Avenue, Suite 60. For more information on services, call 1-888-BAPTIST or visit Baptist-Health.com.
