Baptist Health Cancer Center-Heber Springs Now Open; Dr. Sarah Jewell Serving Patients

HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. – Earlier today, Friday, Nov. 14, Baptist Health Cancer Center-Heber Springs held a ribbon cutting to celebrate its grand opening. Dr. Sarah Jewell, a physician with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, sees patients at this new cancer center.

Baptist Health Cancer Center-Heber Springs is dedicated to delivering compassionate, state-of-the-art cancer care to the community. The new provider-based clinic offers a range of services, from diagnosis to treatment, all conveniently located in one place.

A native of Pittsburg, Texas, Dr. Jewell received her medical education from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology from UAMS.

Dr. Jewell, who now calls Heber Springs home, believes in providing compassionate, patient-centered cancer care. She provides treatment for a wide range of conditions, including breast, lung and colon cancers, as well as lymphoma, leukemia and benign hematology.

“I take time to listen and help patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options so we can make decisions together that reflect their goals,” she said. “It’s important to me to not only care for patients, but also to contribute to the well-being of the place where I live. I feel honored to support individuals and families through their difficult moments and am committed to being present and invested in the health of this community.”

Dr. Jewell is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Hematology and Oncology.

Baptist Health Cancer Center-Heber Springs is located at 20 Baptist Health Drive, Suite 100, on the campus of Baptist Health Medical Center-Heber Springs. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
