LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Baptist Health Surgical Clinic of Central Arkansas recently welcomed board-certified, breast surgical oncologist Camila Ortega, MD.
Dr. Ortega, a native of Cuenca, Ecuador, received her medical education from the Universidad del Azuay in Cuenca. She completed her General Surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, and her fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital in Akron, Ohio.
“I feel deeply connected with my patients and is an extremely rewarding experience to help them get cancer-free,” Dr. Ortega said. “My contribution to their cancer care from the surgical standpoint is only one aspect of the treatment, we will build up a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care based on strong evidence from robust clinical trials in breast cancer. My goal is to help patients fully understand their diagnosis and options for treatment so they can achieve the best oncologic and esthetic outcomes.”
