Employee, Baptist Health

I work at Baptist Health, but I’m also a patient and have witnessed the outstanding care and compassion the staff gives to each person. I was due with my first baby, and when I started experiencing contractions, my husband and I drove to Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock. While we were in triage and being assessed for admission, my baby’s heart rate dropped drastically. Instantly, there were five nurses in the room, working seamlessly to get an oxygen mask on, place an IV, get me in a more comfortable position, and most of all, tell me that everything was going to be okay. We were admitted, and though the pregnancy had zero complications, ended up with an emergency c-section. My son and I came through perfectly, both healthy, and recovered well. These kinds of things happen all the time. But what stood out to me was the personal connection we received from the staff. They knew I was scared and overwhelmed, and they did everything they could to help.
