Delivering your baby at Baptist Health Medical Center-Stuttgart
Parking & Check-in
When you arrive at Baptist Health Medical Center-Stuttgart, you will either enter through the Outpatient Entrance or the Emergency Room Entrance. If you are scheduled for an induction or Cesarean Section, you will check in at the Outpatient desk. If you arrive in labor or need to be checked for an obstetrical complication, you will check in at our Emergency Department. You will need to provide a photo ID and insurance card at either check in location. Once you’re checked in, you will be escorted to our Women’s & Children’s Department.
If you are not scheduled for a procedure, you will be placed in our triage area. Here we will monitor you for signs of labor and assess the status of your baby. We will also gather any additional information that is needed to treat you. We may begin treatments like IV fluids or medication. From triage, you will either be sent home or admitted to the Women’s & Children’s Department.
About Our Labor & Delivery Suites
Our labor and delivery suites offer many amenities. Each room is outfitted with a specialized labor bed that will allow different positions for laboring moms. While in labor, we will monitor you and your baby. Our nurses are well versed in different positions to facilitate a natural delivery including the use of birthing and peanut balls. The infant care center is set up to provide care for your newborn in the room after delivery and throughout your stay. And not to forget your guests, each room has a small seating area, a pull-out couch, and flat screen TV. We are a Baby-Friendly certified facility, as well.
For vaginal deliveries, you will labor, deliver and recover in the same room. If your birth requires a cesarean section, you will be taken into our operating rooms and then brought to one of our postpartum rooms for recovery.Â
After Delivery
Once your recovery from delivery is complete, we will move you to our postpartum hallway. Each private postpartum room has a comfortable bed for mom, a bassinet for baby, a large bathroom, a rocking chair, a bed for an overnight guest, and flat screen TV.Â
After delivery and until discharge, it is our goal to promote bonding and provide a safe environment for you and your infant. Our Women’s & Children’s area is a locked area. A staff member will let you and your visitor in and out.
If you have any other questions about our Women’s & Children’s area or visitation policies, please feel free to call us at 870-674-6425. We are so glad you have chosen to deliver with us. Have a blessed day and we will see you soon.
