Dr. Richard Nix has always believed that to varying degrees everyone is an athlete. In his case, it’s to a high degree, as he is an active runner and a veteran of many marathons and triathlons. With that background, one of Dr. Nix’s greatest joys is helping athletes of all ages return to action.
A native of El Dorado, AR, Dr. Nix developed an interest in medicine as an undergraduate at Vanderbilt University. He returned to Arkansas for medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. After receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree, Dr. Nix completed internships and residencies at UAMS.
Dr. Nix is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and is now performing MAKO Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery. Learn more about the innovative robotic system.
He is the father of four and enjoys volunteering at Camp Aldersgate, a summer camp for disabled children.
