Dr. Smith was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and raised in Hot Springs. He attended Baylor University receiving a B.S. in biology in 1999. In 2003, Dr. Smith received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Dr. Smith completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2008. While in residency, Dr. Smith participated in an AO International Fellowship in Klagenfurt, Austria. In 2011, Dr. Smith completed a one-year sports medicine fellowship at the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center in Jackson, MS, focusing on arthroscopy of the shoulder, hip, knee, and elbow.
Dr. Smith is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Smith and his wife, Lori, have two children. His hobbies are CrossFit, hunting and reading.
