Ben Starnes, MD, FACC

The first time I saw a cardiologist place a stent in someone having a heart attack and how quickly it reversed that situation, I knew I wanted to be a part of that and chose cardiology as my specialty.

Dr. Starnes graduated from Hendrix College with distinction in biology before earning a medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He then completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He went on to complete fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Starnes is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is originally from Clinton, Arkansas where his father, Dr. Harry Starnes, has been a family practitioner for twenty years.
