Medical Doctor or dentist who may admit, but have fewer than the number of patient contacts per year specified by the Rules of the department to which he is assigned.
Patient contacts means any of the following: Admissions, Inpatient Procedures, or Outpatient Procedures beyond diagnostic and/or minimally invasive.
Prerogative:
- May attend meetings of the staff and department of which he is a member.
Responsibilities:
- CIA Training is required yearly for all Emergency Medicine providers with Consulting privileges until the Corporate Integrity Agreement has been completed.
Be employed by physician on hospital staff. Be under the supervision and direction of physician. Practice within scope consistent with education & licensure, and approved hospital clinical privileges. May write orders only to extent of hospital staff rules but not beyond scope of the AHP's license, certification, or other legal credentials.

Psychologist: Administer psych exams, provide consults, assessments, screenings in emergency cases and provide follow ups. Render services upon written order of admitting/attending physician (not write orders or perform any acts that alter care of treatment of the patient).
Podiatrists: Provide podiatric services for all cases for which they have delineated clinical privileges. May render services in consultation with the admitting/attending physician. Not write orders/perform any acts that will alter the care of the patient/treatment.
Upon receipt of a written request for specific temporary clinical privileges, an appropriately licensed applicant of documented competence and who does not maintain a residence or office within a fifty (50) mile radius of hospital may, without applying for staff appointment, be granted temporary clinical privileges to serve as locum tenens for a practitioner. The duration of Locum Tenens Clinical Privileges during each staff year, are limited to either (but not both): an initial period of no more than thirty consecutive days, with such clinical privileges being subject to renewal for two successive periods of thirty (30) consecutive days, not to exceed his services as locum tenens; or no more than forty-five (45) non-consecutive days during each staff year and shall be limited to treatment of the patients of the practitioner for whom he is serving as locum tenens and providing call coverage for such practitioner; shall be exercised in accordance with the conditions specified in Section 6.4.2; and shall not be entitled to admit his own patients to the hospital.
