Computed Tomography Scan (CT or CAT Scan)

A computed tomography (CT) scan (also called a computerized axial tomography, or CAT scan) is a special type of X-ray that can produce detailed pictures of structures inside the body. CT scanning can be used to obtain information about almost any body organ, blood vessels, the abdominal cavity, bones and the spinal cord. A CT scan produces clearer pictures of internal organs than a regular X-ray.

At Baptist Health Imaging Center-Saline County, conveniently located off Interstate 30 in Benton, these exams are performed in an outpatient setting that is easily accessible. We also strive to get you in and out as quickly as possible. All exams are performed using the lowest radiation dose possible. We participate in the Image Wisely and Image Gently programs which bring awareness and promote radiation safety in adult and pediatric medical imaging.
