Understanding the Mental Health Facilities and Services Available to You

Woman Searching for mental health facilities

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health, yet it often doesn’t receive the same level of attention and care. At Baptist Health, we offer a range of services in several mental health facilities to give you the support you need to live your healthiest, happiest life.

Mental health, sometimes referred to as behavioral health, can encompass several elements of personal wellbeing: depression, substance abuse, anxiety or simply needing guidance. Find the help you need by learning more about the mental health services we offer below.

Types of Services

Distance Counseling

Distance counseling is a telehealth service that allows you to make an appointment with a mental health professional via video, email or phone. If you live too far from a clinic to see a provider in-person, have a busy schedule or simply prefer the convenience of talking to a provider in your own home, distance counseling makes mental healthcare more accessible than ever before.

Geriatric Behavioral Health

Adults age 55 and older face unique challenges, such as depression, dementia and behavioral changes. In some cases, these issues are best addressed through our Geriatric Behavioral Health Program, an inpatient mental health facility for seniors at Baptist Health-Little Rock and Baptist Health Senior Care Behavioral Health-Fort Smith. Each location provides a safe environment for senior adults to receive the care they need through group activities, recreational therapy, spiritual enrichment and more.

Substance Abuse Treatment

Through a progressive alcohol and drug dependency treatment program, we help adults overcome substance dependency and abuse. From inpatient detoxification and stabilization to maintenance therapy, we offer care for every phase of recovery.

Behavioral Health

Behavioral health clinics provide care for all ages, for a wide range of issues. Mental health, sometimes referred to as behavioral health, can encompass several elements of personal wellbeing: depression, substance abuse, anxiety or simply needing guidance.

Internal Medicine

Mental health issues can develop as a result of physical health struggles. An internal medicine provider can help treat both physical and mental conditions, simplifying care for patients.
