New Family Suites at Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock Offer Comfort and Pampering to New Mothers

Baptist Health is already the most-preferred health-care system in central Arkansas for delivering a baby by a three-to-one margin over other hospitals, which is why Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock led the state with 3,499 babies born in 2014.

And now with a new room option available at BHMC-Little Rock, Baptist Health is adding to its reputation as the hospital of choice for new mothers.

In addition to a staff that focuses on family-centered care, Baptist Health is now proud to offer a world-class experience with family suites available in the Women’s Center at the Little Rock hospital.

The suites officially opened last week with assistance from the Baptist Health Foundation.

“The suites are an excellent example of how Baptist Health listened to the request of our obstetricians, patients, and staff,” said Brenda Goodhart, director of Women’s Center.

“We have had numerous requests over the past few years for this type of accommodations, and these new suites allow privacy for our new parents with extended family support,” Goodhart said.

Luxury maternity suites are a growing trend across the country as more parents look for a birthing experience with higher-end accommodations beyond the typical hospital room.

One goal of the new offering is to deliver a stylish, pleasant, and comfortable suite for families who want a more upscale postpartum experience than what a single private room can offer.

The spacious and serene family suites, which are designed to look like the comfort of home, go above and beyond in providing the perfect setting for new parents and relatives to welcome a new baby boy or girl to the family.

Another goal of the family suites is to pamper the mother during this special time in her life. A snack basket is placed in each room to welcome moms after their birthing experience, and each room comes with a flat-screen television, a private bathroom, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a reclining chair for guests.

The mother’s room is connected to a family guest room that fosters an intimate visiting area for family and friends to meet the new baby and visit with the parents. This guest room also features a sleeping sofa and private bathroom.

Other amenities are just a phone call away through concierge services and can include a baby birthday cake, coffee services, or rocking chairs.

Based on availability, families can reserve the new family suite for an additional fee of $125 per night through the Baptist Health Foundation.

Reservations can be made up to three months out from a due date by calling Jennifer Modrak in the Baptist Health Foundation at 501-202-1839. Suites are assigned on a first-come and first-delivered basis on 3B at BHMC-LR.

Reservation forms will also be available on the Women’s Center floors at BHMC-LR and provided in the birthing classes offered in the Hickingbotham Outpatient Center.

If rooms are available and a guest asks, the forms can be provided at admissions to allow families to reserve a postpartum suite and agree to charges on the spot.

Patients and doctors have a choice about where they can deliver a child, and the new family suites at BHMC-LR provide one more reason why Baptist Health is the health-care destination of choice in Arkansas.
