The miracle of childbirth is something a couple will never forget. For Alexandria and her husband, two difficult pregnancies left them thankful for so much more.

In 2009, Alexandria was 29 weeks pregnant with her first son when complications arose. After a rushed ambulance ride from another hospital to Baptist Health Medical Center, giving birth to her son 11 weeks early was the only option. Weighing only 3 pounds, around-the-clock care was needed for more than 7 weeks to keep him healthy.

Two years later, a similar situation faced Alexandria. A complicated pregnancy forced her to spend weeks at Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock before she went into labor at 32 weeks with her second child. This time, more than 2 weeks of care followed for her young son before he could go home.

Now, both of her sons are healthy and happy. As for Alexandria and her husband, they couldn’t be more thankful for the help and guidance they received during those trying times.

“I know, without a shadow of a doubt, my children wouldn’t be alive without the doctors, nurses, assistants, volunteers and others who devote their lives to these precious babies at Baptist Health,” says Alexandria.
