CARING AND CONVENIENCE
Our breast centers are designed with your convenience
and comfort in mind. We have three easily accessible locations in
the Little Rock and North Little Rock area, and the Little Rock location is open extended
hours on weekdays to accommodate today's busy schedules.
The Breast Center's warm, pleasant atmosphere ensures your complete
privacy. All of our technologists are women and each is registered
and certified in mammography.
The Baptist Health Breast Center is supported by multiple specialists
with expertise in the treatment of breast disease. Radiologists,
radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, pathologists, surgeons,
and nurses work together to provide a coordinated plan of treatment
options appropriate for the individual needs of each patient.
The Nurse Navigators at the Baptist Health Breast Centers in Little Rock and North Little Rock are registered nurses with specialized education in breast health issues. The Nurse Navigator meets with patients when they have their first baseline mammogram to review risk factors and demonstrate breast self exam using teaching models. She follows all patients diagnosed with breast cancer. She assesses emotional and psychological needs, provides education and assists them with referrals to appropriate treatment specialists. She also coordinates care with the multi-disciplinary team for optimum outcomes.
Another optional exam available through the breast center in Little Rock is bone densitometry. This exam detects early bone loss by measuring bone mineral density.
This measurement can often by helpful in deciding whether to begin
a prevention or treatment plan. To schedule an exam, contact Baptist Health Healthline at (501) 227-8478.
